Two towns and four villages west of Kitchener
Wilmot Township brings together New Hamburg and Baden with the villages of Petersburg, St. Agatha, Mannheim and New Dundee, and the farmland, forests and hamlets around them. New Hamburg's heritage main street sits on the Nith River beside North America's largest working waterwheel, and Baden is home to Castle Kilbride, the National Historic Site a linseed-oil baron built in 1877. Housing runs from century homes in New Hamburg's Heritage Conservation District and Baden's historic core to the large lots of Mannheim, the millpond village of New Dundee, and the many homes built since 2000 in New Hamburg and Baden, where nearly half of the homes are newer than 2000.

Castle Kilbride and the Baden Hills Trail, the waterwheel and the Nith River Promenade in New Hamburg, the Mike Schout Wetlands Preserve, the Wilmot Recreation Complex, the trails of the Petersburg Regional Forest, Alder Lake in New Dundee, and the Mennonite Relief Sale each May.
Schools
The Waterloo Region District School Board runs Baden, Sir Adam Beck, Forest Glen, Grandview and New Dundee public schools, and Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School in Baden serves the whole township. French immersion starts in Grade 2 at Baden Public School. The Waterloo Catholic District School Board runs Holy Family Catholic Elementary School in New Hamburg, whose students go on to Resurrection Catholic Secondary School in Kitchener.
