Sebringville

Sebringville is a village on the Huron Road, Highway 8, about 7 km west of Stratford. The Sebringville Community Centre on Huron Road, run by the Sebringville Athletic Association, has two ball diamonds, a playground and a hall for gatherings. The village sits on the line between Perth South and Perth East, and this page covers the whole village. Stratford's theatres, shops and VIA Rail station are about ten minutes east.

The Huron Road, which runs through the village, was surveyed in 1828 as the road west to Goderich and paved in 1928. Sebringville grew along it in the old Downie Township, which joined Blanshard Township on January 1, 1998, to form Perth South.

The census counts Sebringville with the farms around it, so these figures are estimates for the village. They come to about 390 homes. About four in five are single detached houses, and most of the rest are mobile homes. Nearly half were built in 1960 or earlier and more than a quarter between 1961 and 1980. About one in four were built between 1981 and 2000.

Highway 8 runs through Sebringville, east into Stratford and west toward Mitchell. Stratford City Hall is about 7 km away by road, a drive of about 9 minutes, and London City Hall about 63 km, a drive of about 55 minutes. PC Connect's Route B stops in Sebringville on its way between Stratford, Mitchell, St. Pauls and St. Marys, Monday to Saturday.

The Sebringville Community Centre at 302 Huron Road, owned by the Sebringville Athletic Association, has two ball diamonds, a playground and a hall that can be rented for gatherings. The St. Pauls Pavilion, with its soccer fields and ball diamonds, is about 10 km south. Stratford's parks, arenas, library and theatres are a short drive east.

• St. Aloysius School — JK to Grade 8. The Catholic elementary school for some streets, including Red Maple Lane, on Avondale Avenue in Stratford.
• St. Joseph's School — JK to Grade 8. The Catholic elementary school for other streets, including Boyce Street, on St. Vincent Street South in Stratford.
• St. Michael Catholic Secondary School — Grades 9 to 12. The Catholic secondary school, on Oakdale Avenue in Stratford.
• Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School — JK to Grade 8. The Catholic French immersion school from JK, on Grange Street in Stratford.
