St. Pauls

St. Pauls is a small hamlet on Road 122, about 10 km south-west of Stratford, and the home of the Township of Perth South's office. Behind the office, the St. Pauls Pavilion is an enclosed outdoor pavilion with a kitchen, looking over a park with soccer fields, ball diamonds and a basketball court. Farmland surrounds the hamlet on every side, and Stratford and St. Marys are each about a ten-minute drive away.

St. Pauls grew up in the old Downie Township, south-west of Stratford. When Downie and Blanshard townships joined on January 1, 1998, to form Perth South, the new township made its office in St. Pauls, at 3191 Road 122.

The census counts St. Pauls with the farms around it. That area had about 165 homes in 2021, nearly all of them single detached houses, and about two in three were built in 1960 or earlier. The hamlet itself has about 40 homes.

Perth Line 20 and Road 122 meet in St. Pauls. Stratford City Hall is about 10 km away by road, a drive of about 11 minutes, and St. Marys about 14 km, a drive of about 11 minutes. PC Connect's Route B stops in St. Pauls on its way between Stratford, St. Marys, Mitchell and Sebringville, Monday to Saturday.

The St. Pauls Pavilion, directly behind the Perth South township office at 3191 Road 122, overlooks a park with soccer fields, baseball diamonds and a basketball court, and has an attached indoor kitchen. Wildwood Conservation Area, with its lake, beach, campground and trails, is a short drive south-west. Stratford and St. Marys have the nearest arenas, pools and libraries.
