Dovercliffe, Guelph

South of the Speed River the lots stretch out and the homes wear their character proudly, with Dovercliffe Park sitting right in the middle of it all. Green, roomy, and minutes from everything.

The 2021 census counted about 1,300 homes in Dovercliffe. More than half are single detached houses, and about one in five are in apartment buildings under five storeys. Semi-detached houses make up about one in ten. Almost six in ten homes were built between 1961 and 1980, and about a quarter between 1981 and 1990.

Guelph Transit's 7 Niska, 15 College, 18 Watson Woodlawn and 19 Hanlon Creek routes serve the neighbourhood. The Hanlon Expressway runs along the west side. Stone Road West and Dovercliffe Road are the main streets.

Crane Park, at 96 Dovercliffe Road, covers about 12.2 hectares along the Speed River. Dovercliffe Park has a playground, a soccer field and tennis courts, and Woodland Glen Park has a playground and a ball diamond. The Scottsdale branch of the Guelph Public Library is about 1 km away, and Centennial Park about 1.5 km.

• Mary Phelan Catholic School — JK to Grade 8. The Catholic elementary school, in the neighbourhood.
• Bishop Macdonell Catholic High School — Grades 9 to 12. The Catholic secondary school for the south end.
