Dundas Street East, Woodstock

East along Dundas Street, the city's main street keeps its shops and churches close, and the side streets of brick and post-war homes reach north to Nellis Street. The Woodstock Fairgrounds and the Civic Centre Arena sit in the middle of it all, with Springbank Park and Richardson Park for quieter afternoons. The beloved Snow Countess stands on her granite plinth on Springbank Avenue North, greeting everyone on their way home.

The 2021 census counts about 2,400 homes in Dundas Street East. Just under half are single detached houses, about one in five are row houses, and about one in nine are semi-detached. About a third were built in 1960 or earlier, and about four in ten between 1961 and 1980.

Woodstock Transit's 2 Dundas East route runs along Dundas Street, the 3 North Central along Warwick Street, and the 6 Southwest along James Street. The transit terminal downtown is about 1.2 km away. Dundas Street, Nellis Street, Huron Street, James Street and Springbank Avenue North are the main streets.

The Woodstock Fairgrounds and the Civic Centre Arena, on Nellis Street, are here, and Springbank Park, Hunting Estate Park, Richardson Park, James Street Parkette and Burtch Parkette are the neighbourhood's green spaces. Downtown is about 1.2 km away.

• College Avenue Secondary School — Grades 9 to 12. The public secondary school for the streets south of Dundas Street, including Centre Street, Hounsfield Street and Elm Street.
• Roch Carrier French Immersion Public School — Grades 1 to 8 in French immersion. The public French immersion school for these streets, on Sloane Street.
• St. Patrick's Catholic School — JK to Grade 8. The Catholic elementary school for Dundas Street East, on Parkinson Road.
• Holy Family French Immersion Catholic School — SK to Grade 8 in French immersion. The Catholic French immersion school, on Oxford Street.
• St. Mary's Catholic High School — Grades 9 to 12. The Catholic secondary school, on Juliana Drive, with Extended French.
• Woodstock Collegiate Institute — Grades 9 to 12. The public secondary school on Riddell Street, and Woodstock's public French immersion secondary school.
