Southwood Estates, Woodstock

A tidy neighbourhood off Mill Street and Juliana Drive at the city's southern edge, settled crescents that keep to themselves in the nicest way, with easy comings and goings and the countryside beginning just past the last fence.

The 2021 census counts about 300 homes in Southwood Estates, nearly all of them on Southwood Way and the streets around it. More than four in five are single detached houses, and about one in twelve are row houses. About four in five were built in 2001 or later, and about one in nine between 1991 and 2000.

Woodstock Transit's 6 Southwest route runs along Mill Street and Juliana Drive, and the 7 South Central along Finkle Street and Athlone Avenue to Woodstock Hospital. Highway 401 runs along the south edge. The transit terminal downtown is about 2.8 km away.

Woodstock Hospital and Woodingford Lodge are on Juliana Drive, and Les McKeral Park on Southwood Way and Potters Park on Potter's Way are the neighbourhood parks. The Woodstock District Community Complex and Fanshawe College's Woodstock campus are about 1 km away, and Southside Park about 1.8 km.

• Holy Family French Immersion Catholic School — SK to Grade 8 in French immersion. The Catholic French immersion school, on Oxford Street.
• St. Mary's Catholic High School — Grades 9 to 12. The Catholic secondary school, on Juliana Drive, with Extended French.
• Woodstock Collegiate Institute — Grades 9 to 12. The public secondary school on Riddell Street, and Woodstock's public French immersion secondary school.
