Westview, Cambridge

Westview spreads across the high ground of West Galt, north of Victoria Highlands. Thompson Park, about 14 hectares, opens wide green space in the middle of the neighbourhood, and on windy days the trees along the Riverbluffs Natural Corridor sway above the Grand River valley. Morning walkers follow the Grand Trunk Trail and the Devil's Creek Trail past wetlands and woods. Domm Park, on Princess Street, has a playground under the trees. The streets are quiet, curving and green, with Downtown Galt a short drive away.

The 2021 census counted about 1,250 homes in Westview. About three in four are single detached houses, and row houses make up about one in seven. About two in five homes were built between 1961 and 1980, and about one in six in 1960 or earlier. About a quarter were built between 1981 and 2000. The City's Cambridge West secondary plan, on the neighbourhood's western side, guides new homes there.

Grand River Transit's 57 Blair route runs through the neighbourhood along Blair Road. The Delta ION Bus stop, on the 302 ION Bus to Fairway ION station in Kitchener, is about 1.8 km away. Stage 2 ION, which the Region has approved and is now designing, plans a Delta station about 1.9 km away. Blair Road, Bismark Drive and Devil's Creek Drive are the main streets. The Grand Trunk Trail and the Devil's Creek Trail run through the area.

Thompson Park covers about 14 hectares. Morva Rouse Park, at 261 Blair Road, and Domm Park, at 55 Princess Street, both have playgrounds. The Bismark Drive parks and wetland add green space at the north end. Across the neighbourhood there are ball diamonds, soccer fields, half basketball courts, a tennis court, a skateboard park and a disc golf course. Blair Road Public School, on Sunset Boulevard, and St. Augustine Catholic School, on Bismark Drive, are both in the neighbourhood. The Queen's Square branch of the Cambridge Public Library is about 2.1 km away.

• St. Augustine Catholic School — JK to Grade 8. The Catholic elementary school on Bismark Drive, in the neighbourhood.
• St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School — Grades 9 to 12. The nearest Catholic secondary school, about 4.1 km away.
