What it's like
Glenridge is small, and most of its streets lead to Hillside Park, more than 20 hectares of woods and open space off Marsland Drive. On summer evenings, the park's two ball diamonds are busy with games. Deeper in, the trails of the Hillside Park Reserve dip under the trees, where the woods turn red and gold in October. Glenridge Drive curves along the neighbourhood's edge, past the French-language school Mère-Élisabeth-Bruyère, and the Moses Springer Community Centre is about a kilometre south.
The homes
Glenridge forms part of the City's Willowdale planning district. The City's 2021 census profile counts about 3,500 homes in that district. Just over half are single detached houses. Apartment buildings of five storeys or more make up about one in five, and row houses about one in ten. In the 2021 census, more than half the homes in the surrounding area were built between 1961 and 1980, about a quarter in 1960 or earlier, and about one in eight between 1981 and 1990.
