What it's like
Maple Hills lies just south of Erb Street West, on quiet streets around Warrington Drive, Culpepper Drive and Thorndale Drive. Stonehaven Park's path runs behind the houses off Craigston Place, a quiet route for a morning walk. Belgreen Park, a strip of lawn and trees off Belgreen Way, is just right for an evening stroll. On Maple Hill Drive, mature trees line the street from end to end. Westmount Place's shops are a short drive away.
The homes
Maple Hills forms part of the City's Beechwood planning district. The City's 2021 census profile counts about 3,500 homes in that district. About half are single detached houses. Row houses make up about one in seven, and apartment buildings of five storeys or more and under five storeys about one in eight each. In the 2021 census, about two in five homes in the surrounding area were built in 1960 or earlier, about a third between 1961 and 1980, and about one in ten between 1981 and 1990.
