Kingscourt, Waterloo

6Homes for sale today

What it's like

Kingscourt's streets curve off Kingscourt Drive and Foxhunt Road into quiet courts such as Scotchmere, Ambleside and Glenecho. At Kingscourt Park, the crack of a bat carries from the ball diamond on summer evenings, beside the playground. In winter, Bluestream Park's toboggan hill and outdoor rink fill with the sound of sleds and skates. Just to the east, the trails of Anndale Park lead into ten hectares of woods. Conestoga Mall's shops and Conestoga ION station are about a kilometre away, across King Street North.

The homes

Kingscourt forms part of the City's Lincoln planning district, which also takes in Dunvegan and Colonial Acres. The City's 2021 census profile counts about 3,600 homes in that district. Just over half are single detached houses. Apartment buildings under five storeys make up about one in six, taller apartment buildings about one in seven, and row houses about one in ten. In the 2021 census, about half the homes in the surrounding area were built between 1961 and 1980, and more than a third between 1981 and 1990.

Getting around

Grand River Transit's 29 Keats-University and 31 Columbia routes run nearby. Conestoga ION station, the northern end of the line, is about 1 km away. King Street North runs along the west side, and the Conestoga Parkway runs along the south side, with an interchange at King Street North beside Conestoga Mall.

Parks and daily life

Kingscourt Park, at 385 Kingscourt Drive, covers about 2.2 hectares, with a playground and a ball diamond. Bluestream Park, at 476 Bluestream Road, covers about 1.2 hectares, with a playground, an outdoor rink and a toboggan hill. Anndale Park, just to the east at 284 Grant Crescent, is a 10-hectare natural area with a playground and a toboggan hill. Conestoga Mall, at 550 King Street North, has more than 130 stores, a food court and a cinema. The Foxhunt neighbourhood association serves most of the area.
