Lincoln Heights, Waterloo

Lincoln Heights spreads east of Uptown along Lincoln Road, on streets that filled in mostly during the 1960s and 1970s. In July, splashes and whistles carry from the outdoor pool at the Moses Springer Community Centre. Behind it, the trails of the Moses Springer Park Reserve slip into more than five hectares of woods. Roselea Park, tucked into Rose Lea Crescent, keeps its playground in the shade of the trees. Uptown's shops are under two kilometres away.

Lincoln Heights forms part of the City's Willowdale planning district. The City's 2021 census profile counts about 3,500 homes in that district. Just over half are single detached houses. Apartment buildings of five storeys or more make up about one in five, and row houses about one in ten. In the 2021 census, more than half the homes in the surrounding area were built between 1961 and 1980, about a quarter in 1960 or earlier, and about one in eight between 1981 and 1990.

Grand River Transit's 5 Erb and 29 Keats-University routes run nearby. Waterloo Public Square ION station is about 1.9 km away, and Allen station about 2.0 km. The Conestoga Parkway has interchanges at Bridgeport Road and University Avenue. Uptown is about 1.8 km away.

The Moses Springer Community Centre, at 150 Lincoln Road, has an arena, an outdoor pool and a playground, and the Moses Springer Park Reserve beside it covers about 5.4 hectares. Roselea Park, at 99 Rose Lea Crescent, has a playground, an outdoor rink and a toboggan hill. Willowdale Park, Harvard Park and Vermont Park are nearby greens. Bluevale Collegiate Institute has a track, tennis courts and a playing field. Hillside Park is about 1.4 km away, and Bechtel Park about 1.6 km. The Moses Springer, Village on the Green, Vermont Park, Roselea Park and Cardinal Crescent groups serve parts of the area.
